🧌Gronk asks Farmer what has happened with the city. Farfmer says that the king has declared a prime minister, Guliere, for the first time in a long time. The queen has been dispatched to Albany, and undead patrol the city at night. The only safe place in the city, her says, is the church of Mei.
🧌Gronk and 🧔♂️Harald sneak into the city. The undead patrols spot them but ignore them. At the church of Mei, they see clerics moving people and supplies into the church, providing sanctuary.
A little way off, Toot Toot and Laurien see 🧔♂️Harald and 🧌Gronk. They ask them to help out with the church, and they do - and the party rests up as well.
They're woken by beating drums outside, with five flaming skeletons, headed by a human. He orders the party out, by order of the king. Toot Toot invites them in instead, and asks about their God. The human declares that they no longer work with the support of Efu, but instead with Mu-Wren.
Toot Toot casts Sacred Flame on the leaderr, but it ricochets off.
The first skeleton attacks Harald, throwing a bolt of fire hitting him for 14 fire dmg, modified to 7 thanks to Rexalon's armour.
The second skeleton hits Gronk for 7 fire dmg.
The third throws two bolts at Laurien, hitting her for 7 fire dmg.
Gronk casts chain lighting on the group, dealing 64 dmg, leaving them the less for worse.
Harald runs up to the leaeder and attacks, hitting three times for 54 damage, stabbing him to death. In his last breath, the leader commands the skeletons to attack at will.
Laurien runs up to the third skeleton, hitting three times and dealing 24 damage, leaving it shaking.
Toot Toot casts Spiritual Weapon, summoning a greatsword that hits the third skeleton, dealing 5 radiant damage. She then casts Sacred Flame, finally toppling it in a beam of light. As it falls it explodes in flame, dealing 7 fire dmg to Laurien.
The first skeleton starts throwing a fireball at Laurien, but Harald intercepts it, hitting it for 15dmg and breaking it's chest, killing it.
The second skeleton throws a fireball at Haraldf, doing 7 dmg.
Harald swings back, hitting twice for 48dmg and sending bones flying.
The arch priestess of Mei says that these attacks have been more frequent, but is impressed that they took out a necromancer. She greets Gronk and Harald, and says that people she's sent into the palace to learn about the king do not come back. All she knows is that a prisoner was taken into the palace yesterday, and would like to rescue them.
She asks Harald about his armour of Rexalon, and gives some background. She says that the Moon Maidens have been seeing dreams including Harald, and the church of Geff.
The party decides to help retrieve the prisoner. Assembling a suitable bribe for the guards, Harald steps forward at the gate and presents his credentials. The guards allow them in, in preparation for the additional important prisoner they're expecting - and which is riding up behind the party.
The second carriage is very well adorned, and with priests in front and behind, flanked with guards. The guards usher in the second carriage as well, and once inside, a young lady steps out, in expensive dress but looking miserable.
Gronk recognises her as the eldest daughter of the king of Albany, Lydia Toodoor. She looks around, sees Toot Toot, and runs towards her, begging her to save her.
Harald asks the guards where they plan on taking her. She's going to the most secure cell, to make sure she can never get out.
Gronk manages to use Friends on the guard to convince the guard to let Lydia have a potion of dimunition. Another guard sees what is happening, and calls out - 'Attack!'
Harald, having been studying the guards and priests, attacks the closest priest, hitting him hard.
Gronk casts Wall of Fire through the three guards behind the first, dealing 20dmg on them.
Laurien swings at the first guard, dealing 10dmg, then misses the second guard, then swings again and hits for 14dmng.
Toot Toot casts Blade Barrier in a ring, affecting all guards and priests, but one dealing 42dmg and killing the first guard.
The party find themselves charmed by the first priest, who tells the party to stop harming them everyone takes 28Psy dmg ezxcept Toot Toot, who resists and takes 14.
One priest looks at Toot Toot, muttering something in Celestial, paralysing her.
Gronk has to release the Wall of Fire.
A guard hits back at Laurien
Harald cannot hit the priest in front of him, but runs past him for ther second, taking an attack of opportunity but avoiding the hit. Harald attacks the second guard, hitting him for 37Dmg and disarming him.
Toot Toot finds herself freed from her paralysis.
Gronk sets up another wall of fire through the priests, killing them, and leaving just three guards behind.
Laurien attacks the third guard, hitting and dealing 12 dmg, slicing into his belly and spilling his guts.
Toot Toot casts Spiritual Weapon, hitting the first guard, dealing 10 dmg and freeing the party from their charm.
The first guard hits Toot Toot with a Psychic Blast for 23 dmg.
He attacks Haral,d with his sword, dealing 16Sla dmg.
Harald attacks the first guard, hitting twice and dealing 43 dmg, killing him.
Gronk casts Mind Spike on the remaining guard, hitting him and sending him to the floor, bleeding from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.
The party find 138Gp. Toot Toot casts Mass Healing Word to heal the party for 10Hp each.
Lydia asks the party to save her Lady in Waiting, Marjorie, and after some debate they decide to find her.
